HUTT VALLEY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE RESTRUCTURE COMPLETED

Monday, February 26, 2018

Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce President Neville Hyde, has today announced the Lower Hutt based Chamber of Commerce has completed its restructure.

Neville Hyde says, “This restructure, as announced earlier this month was sparked by the resignation of our Chief Executive Mark Futter. The Board, and Mark have been working together on a transition plan for the Chamber following Mark’s decision to move on some months ago.

Mr Hyde says, “Our Boards decision to change the structure of the Chamber has not been taken lightly. A primary consideration given Mark’s decision to move on was the desire to withdraw from a long held Service Delivery Contract with Lower Hutt City Council. This will take effect from 1 July 2018 and will reduce Chamber’s revenue by $200k per year. In light of this we have now completed our structural changes and going forward we will continue to deliver strong membership growth and engagement, as well as many new initiatives. This year we celebrate 75 years of operation, so we are taking this opportunity to rethink our work in the community and set ourselves up for the future.”

The restructure has included a reorganisation of the roles within the Chamber and the services and events that the Chamber will provide.

Mr Hyde says, “The Hutt Valley Chamber is considered by many to be one of New Zealand’s leading Chambers of Commerce, we will keep innovating and growing with our huge calendar, our events and are looking at new opportunities”.

One of the strengths of our Chamber is that we are first and foremost focussed on our members and partners. We are pleased to have completed this process and will ensure our members and supporters continue to enjoy the level of support and engagement that they have come to expect and value. “
