AGM - Tuesday 21st May, 2019, 5.30pm - doors closed at 5:30pm sharp

Our AGM will start promptly on Tuesday 21st May, 2019 at 5.30pm.


The AGM will be held at Level 3, 15 Daly Street Lower Hutt in the Chamber offices.


To able to vote at the AGM you need to be a financial member of the Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce at the time of the AGM. For members attending it is asked that you are seated at the venue no later than 5.25pm on the day. No one will be permitted entry after 5.30pm.


Voting for 3 Board Members, Vice President and President will take place at this AGM. Nomination forms are available below. A nomination form will need to be completed in full with Photo and Profile. These must be received at the Chamber no later than 5pm, Thursday 9th of May, 2019. A full list of nominees will be available below for members to review, prior to the AGM.


Should you not wish or cannot attend the AGM you can still vote for your nominee preferences for the Board positions by completing a Proxy Vote form on the following conditions;


  • To be valid, this form must be delivered to the Chief Executive before the start of the meeting.
  • Anyone appointed as a proxy must be a financial member or the representative of a financial member of the Chamber. Proxy Vote forms are available below..

Mark Skelly

Founder, Red Hot Business Coaching


Mark passionately believes that the Hutt Valley is an amazing place to grow a thriving business and raise a family. He co-founded Red Hot Business Coaching here in the valley 10 years ago and has had the privilege of helping many individual owners remove the barriers to growth in their businesses over that time. Mark’s career has included a number of senior management roles with nation-wide responsibilities.


Mark and his wife Megan have two children, and he has been on the board of Wa Ora Montessori School for the past 7 years. He is known for making things happen.

Dave Morgan

Principal, Link Business Broking Wellington


Dave has had a successful career as a business investor, spotting businesses in need of professional management and robust operating systems. He has bought and sold businesses in the tourism sector, retail sector and the service industry and has extensive experience operating multiple franchise outlets.


With considerable experience as a ‘hands off’ operator, Dave focuses more on the importance of strong business systems and quality training. This experience has helped him identify opportunities to develop the maximum return from his operations and extract the best price for his businesses. 


As the Principal of the Wellington office of Link Business Broking, Dave and his team of brokers are at the forefront of helping the baby boomers exit their businesses and extract their capital from their enterprises. Link Wellington has been a platinum sponsor of the HVCC for the last 3 years and is actively involved with the Chamber.

Tony McKone

As the owner of a successful small business, I look forward to having the opportunity to connect businesses, people and the truth as a member of the Board for the Chamber.  I bring nine years of governance experience to the Board, as well as knowledge, skills and experience built up over the last 40 years as a business owner, former senior manager in the public sector and as a senior HR practitioner.  I am a Chartered Fellow of the HR Institute, a Certificate Holder of the Association of Workplace Investigators and hold a Graduate Diploma in Business Studies.

Andy Barker

Director, Media Giant & Cloud Edge


Andy has worked in the IT industry since 2005. His career has covered the full spectrum of IT including helpdesk, trainer and engineer roles. Andy has also been the technical lead for big government organisations, running teams and working on multi-million-dollar IT projects.


Andy owns two Hutt Valley businesses, specialising in the IT, websites and graphic design sectors. Both businesses have grown substantially under Andy’s leadership.


Andy brings the perspective of the newer business community with him at 29 years of age and has the unique ability and proven experience to relate to a far wider audience. Andy heads a dedicated Team who work closely with a large client base from all industry sectors. Andy is proud to put himself forward for the Board of the Chamber.

Hayden Kirk

Hayden is the Owner/Director of Layer3 Ltd. Layer3 is a Managed IT and Cloud Provider for businesses Nationwide.


Born and bred in the Hutt Valley, Hayden believes the Hutt Valley is an excellent place to set up business.

Hayden is passionate about IT and was excited to be elected to the Technology Valley Board in May 2016. Hayden has a wealth of knowledge in IT and looks forward to working with members to make the Hutt Valley a thriving hub in the ICT sector.


Hayden has successfully run Layer3 for 12 years and feels he can add real value and knowledge to the Chamber Board.

David Shadwell

Dave is Managing Partner of Findex across Central New Zealand, including Wellington and Lower Hutt. Originally from the UK, Dave has significant experience in the regulated financial services sector, not-for-profits and private businesses.


As part of this experience, Dave has held several directorships in a number of regulated businesses, which has given him a unique commercial approach and real insight into bestpractice corporate governance. Dave encourages strong, vibrant and collaborative business communities. Dave’s skill set and knowledge will add value to members and the Chamber Board.
